Pushing for diversity and inclusion in mathematics, the UMS hosts an annual Women in Mathematics Panel & Social around March 8th, International Women’s Day. A panel consisting of mathematics professors and graduate students engage in a discussion that explores the experience of being a mathematician and, more closely, a woman in mathematics. The goal of this event is to support undergraduate women at UBC by providing them with positive representation as well as a chance to take part in meaningful dialogue surrounding gender and being a woman in STEM. All are welcome to attend!
